A work in progress, this is a tiny Victorian in Parkdale, Toronto. The ground floor was completely gutted, exposing the original douglas fir joists and removing dividing walls to create a loft-like space within a narrow footprint. Walnut floors and white walls further maximize the perception of height and light.

Wallpaper + Fabric design for W Hotel Hoboken

This latest wallpaper by partner graphic design company Backyard Design is being used as feature walls in 230 rooms in a new W Hotel. It has been produced in two colours: crimson and violet (bottom two images). These are images are 10'-0" tall and have been cropped as needed to create unique vibrant wallcoverings. The more muted image (top) was printed as a fabric for throw cushions in cotton sateen; at full size the image is abstracted; a haze with flares of colour and contrast.
The West Annex House Reno, In Progress

A modest renovation: the walls and existing cabinets were painted a creamy white, a new counter and white subway tile replaced the existing pink marble, and new lighting was installed. A simple banquette, table and shelves in walnut were added opposite to provide a place to eat that could also serve as a kitchen island. Elsewhere in the house, a renovated master bathroom, master bedroom, entry millwork and office were designed, with fresh finishes throughout.

Canadiana Room 404 at the Gladstone Hotel
This is the Canadiana Room 404 at the Gladstone Hotel, designed in collaboration with the upholsterers The Big Stuff. The wallpaper was printed from a digitally manipulated photograph taken at the cottage. Bev Hisey was commissioned to make gorgeous die-cut felt curtains - a perforated textile that casts forest-like shadows in the morning. The light box bench is a custom piece designed for the room, in fumed oak with back lit photographs by Jenny Francis.
