Cabbagetown House, under construction

.
Demolition is in progress on the ground floor - the interior partitions and ceiling have been removed, and the walls to the left and straight ahead will be demolished over the next day or two to make way for the side and back additions. Very exciting. The basement walls have been reconstructed, and we are almost ready for backfill.

Munich Reinsurance_Bay Street Office 5

.

The elements are coming together for the CEO's office at Bay Street.

The drawer fridge provides a moment of delight as the lacquered drawer slides open with a chirp to reveal the hidden space inside for chilled refreshments. The Brent Comber drum provides organic shape and texture, and the dove grey carpet looks like silk carpet in some lights, and resembles concrete in others. The golden interiors of Tom Dixon's pendant lamps will hang over the eagerly anticipated Florence Knoll table in white marble and chrome, to arrive soon, paired with Saarinen Executive chairs in bright red.

Many thanks to Parallel Construction for great work.

Dovercourt House 1

Design for the Dovercourt House is progressing, in collaboration with architect Wanda Ely. Instead of adding a new addition, as the client had initially imagined, we instead proposed to use the ground floor much more effectively by reconfiguring the plan, and by adding a new entrance to a renovated basement complete with a full bathroom, storage and guest suite. This would transform the house into one that could accommodate a family with two small children, visitors spending the night, and the a generous garden that be appreciated from within.
