Going through my photographs I came across several that I had taken in New York as part of my Masters thesis, and I was reminded of how much that city has influenced my ideas about design and architecture.  There is something incredibly poignant about how the heroic manifestations of its infrastructure and extreme urbanity are somehow also emotional and intimate - even fragile.  To me there is a real implied narrative in its layers, opposing scales and textures, and I like to think about those things in every project, however obliquely.  There are a few cities that are deeply connected to my view of the world; New York is certainly one of those great loves.
