IDS 2012

I am very pleased to be designing a pavilion for Swiss awning manufacturer Stobag International and custom door fabricator Door Studio for the 2012 Interior Design Show in Toronto.  I had a Stobag automated awning installed at the Thompson Hotel on their spectacular rooftop over the summer (complete with sun and wind sensors of course), and it surely is a product with Swiss precision and attention to detail.

I am very much looking forward to this year's show!

Patio Optimism

As I was sourcing furnishings for the Thompson Hotel (poolside cabana and Scarpetta patio) I zipped around the city to check out the latest offerings.  FRESH has a comprehensive showroom - this is the display area between their two spaces.  I was tickled by how the furniture and the hints of greenery were peeking out from the melting snow on that crisp and sunny day - a vision of Canadian patio optimism.  Warmer weather is around the corner, finally!

I am very pleased to be starting a new project for the Thompson Hotel Toronto, designing a luxury poolside cabana area on the roof.  The views of the city are spectacular, especially from the infinity edge.  It is very seductive to be thinking of summertime leisure during February!!
