The River House design is entering a new phase of development, with detailed sections and research of cladding materials in progress. I am thoroughly enjoying this stage of design - the plans have gelled, and the composition of the exterior and expression of massing are being fine tuned. The ravine site is both beautiful and a challenge - we are using the sloping landscape to our advantage to gain views on the river side, while attempting to strike a natural balance between the new volumes and the existing terrain to ensure a harmonious and responsible use of the land.
I am also starting to think about a palette for the interiors, using neutral, classic tones with rich materials, patterns and textures.
